| SCW Interiors creates livable spaces that are truly unique to each client’s lifestyle and personal tastes. Our interiors include an unexpected element as we strive to move away from formulaic design. One constant is our commitment to sustainable materials and longevity. Based in Alexandria, Virginia, SCW enjoys residential and commercial design projects. We try to relate each project to its natural environment in which we bring the outside in and provide a balance between organic materials and the use of luxurious elements. Our projects range from small-scale interior renovations to new construction collaborations with a variety of clients. The principal, Shazalynn Cavin Winfrey, who grew up in the southwest has had a lifelong passion for design. After graduating from UT and the Culinary Institute of America, she spent time at Parsons School of Design. Growing up in a family of artists and designers provided constant exposure and stimulation for a future in creative endeavors. Family lore describes Shazalynn as a child: drawing intricate details of a room, organizing collections and arranging vignettes so that they were pleasing to her eye. A lover of art, Shazalynn spends her free time in the galleries and museums of Santa Fe, New Mexico where she has a small client base as well. It is not uncommon for SCW to build a room around works of art that range from a simple child’s drawing to a major acquisition, which we have helped to find. We are constantly seeking the unique item that creates the perfect juxtaposition in a space. Driven by a love of surprises, we try to make the spaces as unpredictable as possible. This is often what takes the space from beautiful to personal. |
